Celebrating 21 years at the Vine House along with Christmas festivities

Always moving forward – we are breaking with some tradition – not doing Christmas Day lunch as we are ringing the changes in our 21st year and acknowledging the times... Our present to you this festive time as part of recognition of your clientele to thank you.

The Vine House team works tirelessly to raise the bar in terms of food & service excellence whilst maintaining true value with prices at £30.95 for three amazing courses of fresh locally available produce fashioned into top end dining.

No cringe worthy music or commercial trappings here…We promise!…...If you fancy an intimate, personal, quiet festive time - we invite you to make your own fun here and enjoy a dining experience where it is all about the food for true ‘foodies’ who appreciate the efforts Chef Marcus goes to for your taste buds’ delight. Julie offers a wide range of wines to accompany from the select cellar.

If you are looking for roast turkey carvery we are not it! Known for intense flavours and combinations with a twist, you may choose example dishes like local soft boiled duck egg with beef dripping triple cooked chips and smoked sea salt, local saddle of wild Venison with butter roasted parsnips, chocolate essence and raspberry oil; Bramley apple and cracked black pepper mousse with stilton oat cakes.

Marcus says ‘Leave room to try the ‘funked up’ puddings…like cherry mousse with black pepper shortbreads and lemon oil jelly.’ Wow!

Open for diners throughout the run up to Christmas we are also open on Christmas Eve (24th December 2011). Come join us from only £27.50 pp for 2 courses, £30.95 for 3*….Yes, we are holding our usual prices during the season….as our thank you to you for frequenting the Vine House. The answer to all your wishes

Closer to now - Before the festive season strikes take the chance to sample some of the amazing food delights at Marcus’ Restaurant. It has been said that - Rarely is a chef so adept at all three courses. Marcus is a master. The menu description does not do justice to specially sought out ‘crown prince’ pumpkin gratin with pine nut and rosemary crumble. A triumph of hearty flavours and textures combined.

Clever Warm Lemon and Almond cake with raspberries takes comforting cake desert to new heights of fine dining, nothing heavy here, with intense lemon flavours dancing and light fluffy layers dissolving on the palate topped with caramelised crackled lemon sweet glaze and luscious raspberry syrupy coulis to contrast and accompany. A joy, which lingers long in the memory urging one to return for more of Marcus’ amazing creations!
