Our RestaurantThe restaurant, which accommodates up to 33 covers, is open all year round for Dinner, which is served seven nights a week from 18.30 - 22.00 hrs, and lunch Tuesday to Saturday inclusive 12.30 - 13.45 hrs. Special openings on Sunday for events and stopovers / residents.
Crisp linen draped tables nestle in the intimate rose corners adorned with fine porcelain and offer drama with a homely touch as the stage for the delights of the menu. Creative, exciting and consistently to-die-for quality dishes are presented which are determinedly fresh and a feast for the eye as well as the palate. First rate, fresh and local produce is sought from small independent growers and suppliers to form Marcus' menus including wild mushrooms, free range eggs and asparagus. Whilst locally supplied free-range traditional breeds of Old Spot Pork, Jacob's Lamb and Long-Horn Beef provide the flavour-some basis of the meat dishes. With 24 hours notice special diets and vegetarian options can be catered for. Julie is on hand to assist with the most appropriate wine to compliment from the inspiring cellar. Individually selected wines from favourite grapes and a range of independent vineyards, known for producing highly desirable quality wines, comprise the wine list. In a cellar of reds, whites, sweet and sparkling value. By arrangement cosy cream teas or morning coffee can be taken by the fireside in the lounge or in the charming garden. Breakfast is served in the restaurant or rooms for residents staying in the 6 individually exclusive en-suite bedrooms. |
